Tope Dare, a former executive director of Inlaks Computers Limited, an IT and infrastructure solutions provider, and one of the pioneers of ATM banking in Nigeria, has exited the company after years of contributing to the growth of the country’s banking system.

As a fintech icon, Dare has had 25 years in the banking sector during which he has evolved into a brand synonymous with digital transformation, innovation, excellence, and impact.

He joined Inlaks Computers Limited in 2013 as the Executive Director of the infrastructure business unit. While at Inlaks, he expanded the ATM business with dedicated market development efforts into other sub-Saharan African countries such as Ghana, Sierra Leone, Guinea, DR Congo, Togo, Gambia, Cote D’Ivoire and Zambia with sales of over 169 ATMs worth $2.6 million.

To mark his historic exit, chief executives of notable banks in Nigeria gathered in his honour where he was lauded for his immense contributions to the digital world and financial sector.

Speaking at a send-forth organised in honour of Tope Dare in Lagos recently, Godwin Nosike, acting managing director of Signature Bank, described Dare as one who possesses a mix of grit to tackle impossibilities; humility to listen, learn and respect people’s position; professionalism to deliver superior value, and trustworthiness to deliver on his word.

Joseph Nnanna, chief economist of the Development Bank of Nigeria, described him as a thoroughbred professional who embodies what professionals in all industries should model after.

He said his exit from Inlaks demonstrates bravery, tenacity, and ambition to do more and achieve greater heights.

On his part, Ademola Odeyemi, managing director of Optimus Bank, said Dare played a crucial role in developing a strategic infrastructure that is currently being used by Optimus Bank.

Odeyemi said Dare embodies professionalism, displaying qualities such as humility, responsibility, composure, and a genuine sense of humanity.

Elias Igbinakenzua, managing director/CEO of Globus Bank, lauded him for his unwavering dedication, visionary leadership, and unparalleled commitment.
