Atiku: Tinubu Admin Lost Control of National Security

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has denounced the Federal Government’s approach of the recent abduction and release of schoolgirls in Kebbi State, he expressed disappointment, says its proof that terrorists now operate as an “alternative government” in parts of the country.
In a statement issued Wednesday, he criticized the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, Bayo Onanuga, for comments made on Arise News describing the girls’ release as an achievement.
Atiku slammed the remarks as a “disgraceful attempt to cover up a national catastrophe and present government incompetence as triumph”
He further questioned Bayo Onanuga’s claim that security agencies tracked the kidnappers in real-time and contacted them, asking why this intelligence didn’t lead to the arrest of the kidnappers instead of negotiations.
Atiku in his statement said “If, as Onanuga claims, the DSS and the military could ‘track’ the kidnappers in real time and ‘make contact’ with them, then the question is simple: Why were these criminals not arrested, , or dismantled on the spot? Why is the government boasting about talking to terrorists instead of eliminating them?”
He noted that the recurring pattern of mass abductions, ransom payments and peaceful releases for bandits shows that terrorists can now operate freely, negotiate ransom without consequences, while officials misleadingly claim success.
He also pointed that no self-respecting country under surveillance celebrates itself for negotiating with criminals , he emphasized that the administration has lost grip on national security and is resorting to propaganda to conceal its failures.
“Under Tinubu, terrorists have become an alternative government — negotiating, collecting ransom, and walking away untouched — while the presidency celebrates their ‘compliance’,” Atiku said.
“No serious nation applauds itself for negotiating with terrorists it claims to have under surveillance. No responsible government congratulates itself for allowing abductors to walk back into the forests to kidnap again.”
He lastly submitted that Nigerians deserves real protection, not “propaganda” and fairy tales by moonlight
