As reported by People’s Gazette, The State Security charged him on two counts bordering on alleged possession of firearms.
In the first count, Mr Emefiele is accused of possessing a single-barrel shotgun (JOJEFF MAGNUM 8371) without a license,which is contrary to section 4 of the firearms Act and punishable under section 27(1b) of the same Act
In the second count, the suspended CBN governor is accused of having in his possession 123 rounds of live ammunition (cartridges) without a licence, which is contrary to section 8 of the Firearms Act and punishable under section 27 (1)(b)(il) of the same act.

the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, pleaded not guilty before the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court to a charge of illegally possessing firearms.
Godwin Emefiele, was brought to the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Tuesday morning.
He was brought into the court premises at 9:21 a.m. by officers of the State Security Service (SSS). He is being charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
He appeared before Nicholas Oweibo, a vacation judge.
